It seems like a lifetime ago since we started this

It seems like a lifetime ago since we started this page - a little corner of the internet dedicated to getting more people back on the High Streets supporting local independent businesses 🙌

Over the last two weeks we have been saddened to see a number of local businesses announce their closure.

Hospitality and Retail in particular are having a real difficult time and we are no stranger to the financial hardships affecting independents, closing our Longton and Newcastle stores last year was a difficult choice and trying to navigate our business into a slightly new direction in order that we are able to sustain difficult times hasn’t been easy.
It feels like those with the power and ability to support businesses like ours, don’t.

We strongly feel that independent businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, business owners filled with passion, purpose and an abundance of energy is key to the growth and success of our Towns and Cities.

In order that we see businesses thrive we must support them - we are all stakeholders in our High Streets, we all have a role to play and if we truly want to see businesses like ours and many others survive - we must use them, talk about them, spend with them 💛

This week so far has been a tough one ….. Andy is unwell and we seem to face a new challenge every single day.

We returned back on Monday from a short break visiting our lovely Sister and Brother In law who live overseas - its the first time since the inception of Keep It Local that we really did take a few days off - with special thanks to Harry, Hollie and @castleartisan who supported while we were away from the business 💛

We have so much to do to get the store ready for Saturday and we have loved having some of our wonderful stockists instore today, dropping stock, helping with set up and feeling like a real Team again 👊

I’ve taken 0 photos which to be honest isnt like me at all, but Nate sent me this one - eating my lunch on a @graysoffenton chair 🤣

9.30am on Saturday we re-open in @thepotteriescentre and let me tell you - the store is bursting with magic ✨✨✨

We worked with the Team at @goldensquareuk back in the summer when we popped up for a week and we knew immediately that we wanted to make the centre our North West Home 💛
